BinckBank selects Quipu

BinckBank sees great potential in Quipu software and is commited to the open source philosophy. The combination of good cooperation with the Quipu team and the flexibility of the software were decisive in selecting Quipu.

Founded in 2000, BinckBank is an online bank for investors with a Top 5 position in Europe. BinckBank is listed on the NYSE Euronext stock exchange in Amsterdam.

BinckBank is in the middle of setting up an enterprise data warehouse based on a DataVault datamodel. To be able to reduce on intitial and operational cost, BinckBank wanted to select software that can highly automate the process of development and maitenance of the data warehouse. After an extensive selection process, BinckBank has chosen for Quipu open source software.

In the upcoming months both BinckBank and QOSQO (the leading company behind Quipu software) will further develop and enhance Quipu software. These developments will be made available to the community for free use, in accordance with the open source philosophy.

Minimize
The first step in creating a common BI architecture is taken with the implementation of a Quipu data warehouse for the Group and for one of the operating companies in Gorinchem, The Netherlands.

Especially in this first phase Damen has experienced a lot of benefits in working with Quipu. While the organization is getting familiar with business models for analysis and master data management, changes in the data warehouse are frequent.

With Quipu, Damen has the flexibility to react quickly to these changes. Quipu has qualified itself as the tool that makes this project successful.

DELA

Open source data warehouse generation software Quipu is used to generate the data warehouse data model including load code to bring the source data into the data warehouse. Microsoft SQL Server and Integration Services are chosen as database and integration platform. BusinessObjects is used for reporting and analysis within DELA.

The data warehouse has a Data Vault data model. This creates a solid and future proof basis for extension with other source systems data, without touching the existing data warehouse data model and data.
